Gentle Monster X Fendi: “Gentle Fendi” Eyewear Capsule Collection

Gentle Monster has teamed with Fendi to create a capsule collection called “Gentle Fendi.” The collection, which launches today, merges the sunglass South Korean eyewear brand imprint design with Fendi’s expert craftsmanship in order to create two unisex models of eyewear. There’s Gentle Fendi No. 1, which features a narrow cat-eye frame with various logo details marking throughout. The logo of both brands marks the tips of the eyewear, with the overall model reflecting on Gentle Monster’s unpredictable design methodology, as well as Fendi’s lively spirit and history. The second model, the Gentle Fendi No. 2, is an oversized, aviator-like frame that features bright color details throughout, and is said to be based on the contrasting identity of each brand. Gucci Releases its Oversized Tapestry Backpack

The bigger the better is now a thing in the hand bag world and Gucci just released its new Oversized Tapestry Backpack, honoring traditional textile art. The luxury backpack is crafted from a velvet lurex jacquard fabric and features a floral pattern which dresses the rucksack. With a grained leather trim and matching textile lining contrasted by silver-tone hardware, the bag is finished with an adjustable shoulder strap with a webbing effect. Lebanese fashion designer Luana Mahfouz recently launched an executive collection for professional women. The creative woman, who oozes confidence and elegance as she walks by, aims to change the way women are perceived in the mass media. Luana confronts sexualization, human trafficking… by pushing the boundaries in fashion. In collaboration with EJJEH 1926, a third generation textile expert in menswear tailoring, the collection consists of 12 suits made using men’s fabrics and details. “The fashion market is saturated with clothes that focus mainly on making women beautiful and sexy. Shubbak: London’s Window on Contemporary Arab Culture

Shubbak is the UK’s premier festival of contemporary Arab culture, presenting outstanding Arab artists to audiences in London and across England. The fifth edition of the Shubbak Festival starts on the 28th June bringing exciting, bold, poignant and urgent work by Arab artists questioning the norm to London’s stages, concert halls, cinemas, outdoor locations, galleries and museums. This year’s events will include Aicha El Beloui’s maps that encourage commonalities and dialogue, Mehdi Annassi’s beautiful murals, Hela Ammar’s installation ‘Becoming’, and Bricklab’s pop-up sculpture.
