La Cave des Creux: Atop the Heights

Sitting high above the world at an altitude of over 2,000 meters, La Cave des Creux is a dining experience we will never forget. It all started when a snow vehicle met us at the bottom of the mountain to drive us up to the restaurant. We were whisked away to an incredible experience.

Full of surprises, fantastic food and incredible vistas, the restaurant is home to a real sense of passion, history and authenticity. With views of the world famous Mont Blanc and Courchevel Valley and perched high above it all, just getting there is an adventure.

Maria, Florian and Nadine

La Cave des Creux started life as an Alpine cheese ripening cellar and a sheepfold. Run by two brothers, Florian and Boris Glise are both former ski instructors and give off a strong sense of their passion for everything they do at La Cave des Creux.

You feel at home as soon as you enter this refined space. A brasserie, the menu is bedecked with local dishes and locally-sourced produce; this is a place for foodies, it really is something. The dessert bar is the true eye catcher, with tarts of all sorts, chocolate fountains, fresh berries adorning everything, an endless homemade selection of delicious bites.

Amid roaring fireplaces, we sat back overlooking the stunning Trois Vallees ski resorts and the incredible Alps. Stepping outside with a hot chocolate in hand we gazed at the beautiful Mont Blanc, a site that has been inspiring travelers for generations.

With traditional mountain interiors, blended with a touch of industrial design there’s nothing quite like enjoying the scenery while sipping on a glass or two from La Cave des Creux’s extensive wine list. Sitting back amid this glamorous setting, the very best thing about this unique spot is their incredible selection of sharing dishes, including savoie cheeses, cold cuts, Red Tuna Tataki and more.

This really is a place to savour, take our word for it, it’s a wonderful experience atop a mountain. Fine, fine food, great decor and a sense of attention to detail that is so, so rare these days. Wonderful, we’d recommend La Cave des Creux to anyone looking for a refined experience, one that will stay with them for years to come.
