Louis Vuitton’s Pop Up Store: The ‘Rainbow Man’ is Waiting for You

There’s a special glass building in Harajuku, Tokyo covered in Louis Vuitton’s iconic monogram creating a buzz worldwide. The flashy space is designed by Louis Vuitton’s Men’s Artistic Director Virgil Abloh, where you will find Abloh’s spring-summer 2019 men’s collection inspired by the “The Wizard of Oz’, with pictures of Dorothy on jackets and shirts printed with the famed yellow brick road…

Back to the colorful space… You will find larger-than-life installations, iridescent backdrops and monotone mannequins. The highlight of Harajuku’s pop-up is the giant two storey-high ‘rainbow man’ sculpture whose lower half dominates the ground floor space while his upper body extends up to the second level. You can even spot it from the outside. The pop up, is one of many around the world and the Now, and you can’t just walk… You have to secure a ticket to get in.

Entry tickets are handed out at 8.30am every day, until January 31, to participants who lined up at the indicated spot further down the road from the pop-up shop. Queue starts at 6am. If queuing is not your thing, you can pass by and take a sneak peek from the outside. It is a glass building after all…
