A new Italian brand of lighting and home designs, Nita, opens a permanent showroom during Milano Design Week 2019 with the inauguration of Omni, a multisensory exhibition-event inspired by interaction with nature.
Inside an old spice warehouse in the up-and-coming Loreto district, the event is an immersive experience which investigates the intersection between man and nature through the furniture and lighting collections of Nita and the textile universe of Eskayel revisited in light of the four classical elements: earth, wind, fire and water.
New York-based textile design studio Eskayel introduces the “Omaggio” collection, a collection inspired by a Tuscan-style garden in San Diego, owned by Founder Shanan Campanaro’s father. The design, originating from an original painting from Campanaro, will be transcribed into a combination of velvet fabric woven tapestries, rugs and large scale wall murals. The organic designs comment on a cultural nostalgia that explores how one can grasp the American dream while remaining true to a rich Italian heritage through land.
On the outskirts of Milan, the Loreto district is taking shape as a new artistic hub, featuring many emerging businesses with an international focus, and the conversion of disused industrial spaces.
Nita is a space created inside an early-20th century spice warehouse, carefully renovated to preserve the essential nature of its environments. The exhibition opening hours are10 am to 7 pm from the 9th to the 14th of April (closing at 5pm on April 11).
