Philippe Starck’s Sir Gio for Kartell Wins Award

Sir Gio by Kartell won the third edition of NYCxDESIGN Award in the “Tables: Residential: Dining” category.

The table designed by Philippe Starck was particularly appreciated for the technological research on materials and the innovative twist in the use of polycarbonate.

The central base is produced using a mould of elevated technological innovation. The moulded plastic material ensures excellent performance and stability to support a glass top measuring 120 cm. The table offers various possible combinations.

The base is available in 2 finishes (transparent and fumé) that can be matched with 5 different tops. By mixing the colors, it is possible to achieve different solutions and create highly colorful tables for young, more informal interiors, or more classical settings, being perfectly suited for elegantly minimalist rooms. Sir Gio is one table that allows for a wide range of applications.

NYCxDESIGN’s Award Ceremony attracted about eight hundred guests from the international design community. It is an annual celebration of product and project design held in New York City and its boroughs and organized by Interior Design magazine and ICFF, the North American platform for International design.
