The Salon Art + Design in New York Hosts 57 Galleries

The Salon Art + Design, produced by Sanford Smith + Associates, recently returned to the Park Avenue Armory. Presenting the world’s best design – vintage, modern and contemporary – enhanced by blue-chip 20th century art, The Salon featured 57 leading art and design galleries from 11 different countries, spotlighting the trends of collectible design.

Among the many highlights were New York-based atelier Callidus Guild, helmed by artist Yolande Batteau, who joins The Salon as an Applied Arts Partner, showcasing a site-specific installation with gallery partner Jeff Lincoln Art + Design; Eileen Fisher DesignWork presented a collection of felt wall hangings made in New York from recycled textiles.

Lalique presented a one-of-a-kind curated installation by interior designer Ryan Korban using select pieces and Maison Goyard’s showcasing of an extensive collection of trunks for the modern age.

Events throughout the week included Gallerist David Gill hosting a book signing for the upcoming book David Gill: Designing Art and design historian Judith Gura presenting a panel on Memphis and postmodern design.
