Salone del Mobile: JCP Gives New Meaning to Everyday Objects

JCP is is back in the Rho Fiera with Odeum, a metaphysical theater showcasing the creations coming from its cosmos. JCP aims to transform normality, giving new meanings to objects of everyday life, in a fusion between art and design.

JCP wants to illuminate its universe with a star of design: the master of light Nanda Vigo. JCP will present Sun-Ra, a collection of lamps that the artist designed exclusively for the brand. Together with her lightning sculptures will be showcased the “wonder-objects” designed by Matteo Cibic, the ironic and playful creations of Samer Alameen and a series of smaller pieces, hiding special surprises, signed by CTRLZAK and Richard Yasmine, confirming thus JCP’s international approach.

Justine Cabinet by Matteo Cibic

Matteo Cibic

This cabinet is a wonder-object: in a world where treasured objects dematerialise, containers become the real protagonists. Conceived as a coffer, Justine, with its soft and smooth lines, appears in the domestic space as a cabinet with a surprise effect, offering a view on a hybrid universe, characterised by unexpected contrasts.

Eret Console by Samer Alameen

Samer Alameen

Over a hundred years since its inception, around the world there are thousands of Meccano players and fanatics, many clubs and hundreds of websites covering its history, model building instructions and nostalgia. A toy conceived back in 1898, but the fact is that it is more than a toy: it’s educational, it teaches basic mechanical principles and it inspired this brand new artifact. Eret is a console made of stainless steel consisting of perforated metal surfaces and fixing bolts.

Rockets and Bombs by Richard Yasmine

Richard Yasmine

The war still remains in many spots on earth: rockets and bombs are the nightmare of too many nations, and they damage the physiological and mental health of too many people.
This small container comes with the idea of overcoming this horrifying reality by using the exact shape of a rocket and transforming it into an humorous, yet functional, home accessory. If opened up this vase reveals a surprise: the concept is to simulate the bang effect of a bomb, causing an explosion of joy and pleasure.

Sunra Lamp by Nanda Vigo

Nanda Vigo

Characterized by an hybrid identity, between art and design, the SUNRA lamps highlight the synthesis of Nanda Vigo’s career: the search for the interference between space and light where the project stops being only an object and becomes an artwork. Simple lines in the space, find their configuration thanks to a segment of light. Trait d-union, both concrete and conceptual, light becomes the joint element of the whole composition and declares at the same time the function of the object itself.

At Fuorisalone JCP will participate with an exhibition dedicated to Nanda Vigo, in partnership with Adolfo Carrara Studio Design. Within the 5vie district, that this year will place special focus on the work of Nanda Vigo, JCP will present Sun-Ra, a collection of lighting sculptures that the artist designed especially for the JCP Universe. The lucent creations of the Milan-based artist will be the protagonists of the scene, representing the perfect synthesis of her constant research in the relation between space and light. The exhibition will take place at via Santa Marta 10, starting from Tuesday, April 17.
