Iconic design magazine Wallpaper* and Dubai Design District launched a special exhibition highlighting the fast developing up-and-coming designers throughout the Middle East. Editor-at-large and the exhibition’s curator Suzanne Trocme, fascinated with the creative identify growing in the Middle East, launched “Wallpaper Middle East Revealed” a platform replete with a curated collection of interdisciplinary design from across the region.
A wide range of designers, whose work continues to map the area’s cultural identities. Although they come from different design backgrounds, the twelve designers share an astounding ability to adapt to new disciplines, ensuring they always remain relevant.
The designers include Dubai-based Khalid Shafar, Emirati Lamya Gargash and Aljoud Lootah to name but a few.
One thing they do have in common is the inspiration they find in their homeland, as they reimagine local tradition and craftsmanship and present it to the wider world.
