Rather than wearing jewelry pieces that carry superpowers, Mukhi Sisters, with their new collection are here to remind women of their own powers. For the Mukhi Sisters‘ tenth collection, the heroism and inner strength they believe exists in every woman has inspired geometric and sexy simplicity line of jewelry called No Guts, No Glory. Alongside the collection, the three sisters have introduced Glory, the superhero symbol of No Guts, No Glory, who is here to send the timeless message of true strength coming from within.
Tell us about the No Guts, No Glory collection.
The designs have circular and geometric forms, all in 18k gold, drop-shaped rubies, oval sapphires, emerald-cut emeralds and diamonds. The only motif featured in the collection is the snake, symbolizing regeneration and eternal life.
Each piece in No Guts, No Glory demonstrates that real power comes from within. There are pendants and necklaces in the shape of a coin, like the armour of a warrior. The look is strong, in a warrior-princess-superhero way, not least with a special anklet that looks like a bangle.
As well as classic pieces like earrings, hoops, rings and chain bracelets, there are special ear-cuffs and double hoops, necklaces that have two rows, and pendants of different lengths. One special aspect of this collection is the stacking game, especially with the necklaces, pendants and rings.
What does the serpentine mean in the collection and more so on the bangles?
Altogether the serpentine collection is a feisty, confident, sexy haut de gamme collection, as timeless as women’s fortitude. This collection resonates as independent, and dedicated to staying true to that strength in body, soul, heart and mind. We believe that the serpentine bangle has the gravitas of an heirloom.
Can each one of you tell us who your female idol is and why? And if you were to give her one item from the collection what would it be?
Meena: Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović The youngest president ever of Croatia as well as the first woman to be elected to the office. She is considered one of The 2017 World’s 100 Most Powerful Women who identifies a new generation of icons, game-changers and gatecrashers who is boldly scaling new heights and transforming the world. Her performance in the World Cup is perhaps the clearest indicator that she leads by example, traveling at her own expense economy class taking the country to another levels proves that we need more people like her in the world. I would definitely offer her a piece from our new collection from Mukhi Sisters’ No Guts No because she truly represents Glory!
Zeenat: Today, my role model is Glory. She represents each and every one of us. She is here to remind us that we are all superheroes and that it is our duty to be here for one another, regardless of our backgrounds. There is a show that I watched and a sentence stuck to me, “All I need is the power to be able to protect those around me. So long as I can have the strength to do that, I don’t care if I’m weaker than everyone in the world.” To understand the true meaning of being Glorious, one should start with herself. As simple as it is, being there for one another, helping or even complementing loved ones or strangers, will only make you and those around you stronger. Never forget, true power comes from within. Learn everyday and share everyday. And I would give Glory the long serpentine pendant.I love this piece because it’s so subtle and the detail of it is simply unique.
And Maya, who’s yours?
My idol is my mom. It may be a cliché answer but it’s the truth. She raised us and taught us how to be friends, she was there to support our father, our family through the ups and the downs, she faces every single challenge that comes her way and keeps her smile on her face. And everything she does, she does it with love, so yes! I am proud to have her as my idol and what I would gift her? That’s a given, every time we launch a collection, she is the first one to get a preview of it and she gets to pick a gift. She wears our pieces proudly and that puts a smile on my face!
